The 2010 Buick LaCrosse is offered in CX, CXL and CXS trim levels. Front-wheel drive is standard; the CXL is offered with all-wheel drive (AWD). Notable standard features of the CX include cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, XM Satellite Radio and 17-inch steel wheels. The CXL adds leather heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels.

As we lament the disappearance of manual transmissions, Buick is actually coming out with its first manual in 22 years with the upcoming 2011 Buick Regal GS.The Regal GS, based on the Opel Insignia in Europe, will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission by the end of the year. Price is expected to be in the high $30,000 range.
The last manual transmission offered by Buick was in 1989. It was the Skyhawk, according to Lawrence Gustin, co-author of “The Buick: A Complete History.”“In recent decades, manual transmissions were usually associated with either entry models or sports cars, neither of which fit the Buick image of those times,” Mr. Gustin said in an interview. The Skyhawk had a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual.

Buick announced details of its upcoming Regal sedan, which will go on sale in the second quarter of next year. Regal, a name that carries a performance heritage of the Grand National from the 1980s, has not been used since 2004.
.This latest iteration is based on the new Opel Insignia, which has won many awards, including European Car of the Year. Before Saturn was cancelled, rumors were that the Insignia would be the new Saturn Aura in North America. Now Buick gets it. And what it gets looks pretty good. The Regal is not just “based on” the Insignia, it is the Insignia, with minor styling changes to make it a Buick.
The Regal will have a 182 horsepower 2.4L I4 engine as its base powerplant. This engine is also the base engine in the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain.
It is expected to get 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Arriving later in the year will be the 2.0L turbo making 220 hp and getting 18/29 mpg. No V6 or V8? This is Buick, right? Home of the land barges that come with their own ZIP code? This ain’t your father’s Buick, kids (apologies to Oldsmobile). In the land of the 35 MPG CAFE standards, the turbo 4 will have to do. The standard, and only, tranny will be a 6-speed auto.

The new image doesn’t reveal any significant details except for the shape of the headlights, which appear to have a tapered back look. The new concept was jointly developed by design studios both in China and the U.S. and is said to represent the future look of the Buick brand.
